Bokam receives the CEO of the French Gendarmerie

Denis Favier, CEO of the French gendarmerie was received by Jean-Baptiste Bokam.

In the fight against Boko Haram, France and Cameroon find themselves facing the same enemy. It is in this sense that the reunion between Jean-Baptiste Bokam, Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence, in charge of the Gendarmerie (SED) and Denis Favier, General of the Army, Director General of French gendarmerie. Two bodies that maintain cooperation for decades and is likely to increase.

This is at least the commitment by Denis Favier on Friday 15 May after the hearing that he granted his Cameroonian counterpart. "You can trust me that we will go further in our trade in terms of training, policing, Cameroonian officials visit in France, sending French experts in Cameroon to support you in the improvement process...," promised the DG of the French gendarmerie.

Following the meeting, the French delegation was treated to a guided tour of the premises of the Secretariat of State for Defence and Yeyap camp. It was during lunch that the subject body on security issues was discussed.

Denis Favier praised the efforts of the Cameroonian gendarmerie facing the multiple pressures. "View of France, your commitment to Boko Haram is highly efficient. I admire the deployment of the Cameroonian gendarmerie facing real threats on the eastern border. Not to mention significant threats in the north," said the boss of the French gendarmerie.
