Biya sanctions senior army officers

Paul Biya, the Head of State of Cameroon, has again signed on Monday, May 25, decrees appointing officers and sending officers who faltered to military court, reveals "koaci".

Colonel Ernest Mbila, commander of the 4th gendarmerie region -limogé by Decree No. 2015/230 of 25 May 2015 and "made available" the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of national-police, and Lieutenant Colonel Zachary Nkoumou Nkoumou, commander of the 4th Battalion command support, - Order No. 0247 / CAB / PR of 25 May 2015 and "made available" the Chief of Staff of the Army infantry-, all based in the Far North region exposed to the atrocities of the Islamic sect Boko Haram, were sacked on Monday by the head of armies.

According to the investigations by "koaci" limogent texts and sending the officers to the military court, "a statement placed at the disposal of" the army of our country, means that disciplinary proceedings be open against them, they will probably go before the military court for trial judgment if the facts alleged against them are proven," revealed to" koaci" by a Cameroonian military source on the ground.

The dismissed officers are suspected of "mismanagement" embezzlement of donations made to the soldiers as part of the "People's contribution to supporting defense and security forces and the victims of the atrocities of the Islamic sect Boko Haram".

It all started with an investigation initiated by Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o, the Minister for the Presidency of the Republic in charge of Defence, who suspected misappropriation and embezzlement in the management of donations.

As a reminder, on May 12, the head of State of Cameroon, proceeded with the dismissal of Colonel Claude Martin Owona, commander of the air base 101 of Yaounde, the capital, who has kept for a few days, grants and donations to soldiers and populations.

Reportedly, investigations are still ongoing, and other sanctions in the military, will be meted out in the coming days.
