After arriving in Cameroon yesterday, Muhammadu Buhari, president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was invited for a state dinner by the Cameroon presidential couple; Chantal and Paul Biya at the Unity Palace in Yaoundé.

In his toast, Paul Biya congratulated Muhammadu Buhari on his election as head of Nigeria. Cameroonian president talked on the atrocities of Islamic sect, Boko Haram of Nigerian origin.

"Mr President, a dark cloud is hovering over our countries at the time when we welcome you. This same danger threatens us and could shake the foundations of our Nations. This danger is known as Boko Haram," said Paul Biya, before declaring his desire to incapacitate this Islamist sect.

"We cannot let this gangrene thrive. We must pool our resources, combine our strengths, share our experiences and I am aware of your determination to put an end to the activity of Boko Haram on Nigerian soil. And to cooperate with the other countries affected," hammered the Cameroonian president.

In response, Muhammadu Buhari noted the commitment of his government to work with Cameroon to win the war against Boko Haram.

"No country can go at it alone. To win this war, we have to make collective efforts. Everyone must work together to defeat this common enemy,” said the Nigerian president.

"I take this opportunity to express the gratitude of my government to you Mr. President; you’re your kind gesture in granting refuge to our people fleeing attacks by the insurgents. Thank you also for the support provided to our military and security personnel," said the Cameroon’s guest.
