Bali: Angry youths briefly interrupt circulation between Batibo and Bamenda

Cummuting between Batibo and Bamenda towns was briefly interrupted this weekend by angry youths from Bali Nyonga in an attempt to force drivers from Batibo plying the Bamenda road to bring out one of theirs suspected of a hit and run accident at the Gungong neighbourhood Bali that left one man Songtabi Peter popularly known as Pa Waka dead.

All commercial vehicles transporting passengers from Batibo were forced to make a U-turn at Bali for Batibo while their passengers were asked to board other vehicles for Bamenda.

One youth who asked for anonymity said Batibo drivers are responsible for most of the road accidents on the Bamenda-Bali road due to their recklessness and something has to be done to instill some discipline in them. It took the intervention of the police for normal circulation to be restored.
