The BGFI Bank Foundation has stated that it will enroll about 150 orphaned and under priviledged children in school for the 2015-2016 academic year.

This action falls in line with a programme set up by the BGFI Bank Foundation and its partner, Women of Africa (WOA).

At Ndogsimbi slums in Douala, many children and particularly girls are either school drop outs or have not been enrolled in school due to the lack of means.

The funding for this project will enable the BGFI Bank Foundation, in collaboration with the Association, WOA, the opportunity for children to pursue a normal education and complete, through inter alia, the provision of all of the school supplies and uniforms, the payment of fees in public establishments, the regulation of expenditures related to the access to the school canteen and health care.

The objective of this project is to make access to education an undeniable asset in the fight against poverty and its social consequences by opening pathway for these children to be self-managements in the society.

“Because children are the first victims of poverty, violence and inequality, we are mobilizing every day to improve their condition of life everywhere we operate, and through education which remains our priority focus area,” said Henri Claude Oyima, President of the BGFI Bank Foundation.
