Authorities call for meeting to stop urban disorder

Monday, November 10, at the administrative headquarters in Bonanjo, motorcycles with passengers rolled freely in this area which was prohibited.

According to the prefect of the Wouri, Naseri Paul Bea, many also benefit from the special permissions granted to a class of motorcycles to circulate in prohibited areas, forgetting that they could be arrested. This weekend, 7 drivers of motorcycles were surprised in these areas as their bikes were impounded.

For this reason, a meeting towards the cooperation between administrative authorities, unions of motorcycle and drivers is planned shortly. According to the prefect, the meeting is aimed to call them to order. "It is to ask them to comply with the regulations, and avoid prohibited areas, by paying their taxes. The other wish is that they help us to combat insecurity, urban disorder."

Among others, these are the points to be discussed with these carriers. Naseri Paul Bea said in substance that 300 special permissions are granted per month to motorcycle drivers who operate in these areas.

With regard to the 'cargo', a meeting with the authorities is also announced. With them, the measures will be more stringent."They have no place on the road.

We dare to believe that they will find what to do with their vehicles" With regard to the large carriers, only those making deliveries are allowed to circulate during the day, including the beer trucks, fuel tankers, sand and gravel trucks. Trucks carrying wood, containers, cement and others were expected to move only at night.
