At least five dead in double suicide bombing in Fotokol

At least five people have died and several others injured in a double suicide bombing at Fotokol, a locality of the Far North region of Cameroon and a border with Nigeria. The attack is attributed to the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram, reveals an assessment obtained by Xinhua from security sources.

Two girls blew themselves up with their loads at around 1:00 p.m. (1200 GMT) near the mosque in the city which has already registered a similar attack on July 13, first time in Cameroonian territory, which caused a dozen deaths including a health official, reported sources.

The two suicide bombers and suspected members of Boko Haram were killed and three other people who are civilians. Defense and security forces present in the city responded immediately by organizing a loop of the area of ??the attack.

This act brings to nearly twenty the number of suicide attacks on Cameroonian soil in about four months.
