Algeria Ambassador pays courtesy call on MINSEP

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Adoum Garoua, granted audience to the new ambassador of Algeria to Cameroon, Merzak Bedjaoui on Friday.

Since March 2015, the Algerian diplomat wanted to contact the MINSEP until Friday when the courtesy call was quickly transformed into a working session.

Cameroon was "selected as a pivotal country by Algeria," said Merzak Bedjaoui who acknowledged the local crisis facing the country pledging his country's support by raising many cooperations including in the field of sport.

"As we have an old legal framework, we will dust it by setting up a joint commission. We will list the areas of cooperation including sport by signing a number of agreements and cooperation agreements. The training component was also discussed because it is a very important part," said the diplomat at the end of the meeting. Already, Algeria has awarded 30 scholarships in Cameroon.

In addition to this meeting on Friday, MINSEP received yesterday, the German Ambassador to Cameroon, Klaus-Ludwig Keferstein, who is ending his stay in Cameroon.
