Agent of the Civil Aviation Authority embezzles FCFA 91 million

The respondent, Ernest Zock Mboumsong, has been arraigned for embezzlement of public funds amounting to FCFA 91 million belonging to the civil aviation authority Cameroon, a public institution,

The former agent of the CCAA is on the run and not cooperating with the court, reported La Nouvelle Expression newspaper in its September 1, 2015.

According to the newspaper, several witnesses have already been heard in this case. Jean Carlo, the last to be interviewed, said that "at the material time, Mr Mboumsong recruited in 2006, was the only officer in charge of processing salaries of the company. To do this, he had at his disposal the Delta software."

According to him "the software had three main functions. It was used in the management of Human Resources, Application of payroll and accounting and management matters."

"He was the only one to enter data into the machines (salaries and other benefits) and this allowed him to pay fictitious salaries for several months through an account opened in the Bicec," supported the witness.

The accused was dismissed in 2009. Absent at the trial, Zock Mboumsong faces up to life in prison.
