Afrique Media lawyers rely on courts

The two lawyers of TV Afrique Media have taken up the case on the close down of the offices of the President Director General, Justin Blaise Tagouh.

Me Charlotte Tchakounté and Me Robert Yambi considered that the operation conducted by the police officer, Robert Takuété, on the orders of the prefect of the Wouri, Paul Naseri Bea, was not done in accordance with the rules of the court.

Charlotte Tchakounté listed several anomalies including the failure to inform boards of Afrique Media and non-drafting of a verbal process. "We were not informed about the close down. A verbal process to close down was not addressed. This was not done despite the request that I made. They promised me by saying that I could get it at the Central Police Station No. 1. After the close down, I made a request but I was told that there is no document for me. There is a problem!” claimed the lawyer.

“We are obliged to refer to what is written on the document pasted at the door of the CEO of Afrique Media,” she complained.

Her colleague meanwhile questioned the sanction process. Me Robert Yambi said that Afrique Media has already served its suspension. He wants proof of notification of the sanction served by its officials on June 15, 2015. It considers that it has been served on that date.

The two lawyers are not relenting their efforts. They rely on justice to give reason to their client. Me Tchakounté announced that the interim relief judge is going to be notified, without delay, to challenge the Act initiated by the National Communication Council. Thus he hopes to see the seals at the doors of the "Pan-African" television facilities in Cameroon taken off.
