Africa CSR organizes training on waste management

After the success of the first training and the request of several companies, the Institute of Africa CSR organizes on 10 and 11 September at the Sawa hotel of Douala, a second seminar of capacity building on waste management and the importance of an environmental permit.

Surprised by the determination of the Government, the Cameroonian companies finally discover the interest of environmental issues and especially the costs of non-compliance.

Indeed, the publication in October 2012 from the joint orders of the Ministry of the environment, Protection of Nature and sustainable development (MINEPDED) and the Ministry of Commerce (MINCOMMERCE) was passed as a letter in the mail.

Accustomed to the laxity of the authorities on environmental and social issues, the private sector has neither anticipated nor measured the extent of these governmental measures.

Thanks to an excellent communication campaign and ultimatums, the Minister of environment has managed to impose the environmental issue in the agenda of business leaders. During training, we will return to recent circulars in waste after the presentation of the law framework on the environment in Cameroon.

The correlation between environment and green economy will highlight the economic opportunities of waste. The presentation of the interest to an environmental permit will be followed by the strategy.

African societies now have the choice between being passive and very expensive or pro active for the transformation of the environmental and social constraints in economic opportunities with corporate social responsibility (CSR).
