Admission increases ahead of the 2015-2016 new school year

Registration Registration

While the admission process is almost completed in colleges, high schools are still receiving files.

Laurent Diguissa, 18 years old, went from door to door at Lycée de Tsinga with his documents in hand.

The establishment was virtually empty on Tuesday morning but the young man wanted at all cost to present his file and have his name appear in the school registers. After an unsuccessful event at the administrative block, he finally found the team.

The instructions were made clear: "We just collect the files. We are not admitting and are not enlisting either. The operations may perhaps begin early September, when the principal will have put in place the recruitment commission," explained Pierrette Bekolo, Secretary. Laurent Diguissa was however demoralized.

He was one of the candidates who were unfortunate in the previous session of Probatoire. He desires to reconnect with the benches, attend a good school and turn his backs on night events as has been the case for many years due to the lack of resources. "I like Lycée de Tsinga because it is near the house. If I'm not admitted into this high school, I don't know what I'll do', he said with worry.

In this regard, so many other students just like him, knocking the doors of high schools in the city, will have to wait. They will be informed of their fate a week before school starts because Lycée de Tsinga is not the only school which is not yet admitting.

It was also the case with Lycée de Ngoa-Ekelle. Gisèle Flore Ewolo, indicated that she and her colleagues were there only to render minimum service. “Receive admission files, deliver results slips, registration and admission will start in early September,” ensured the Lady.

Parents come and go within the walls of the institution, but here just like elsewhere, it is no exception to the rule. And even at the nearby Lycée General Leclerc, it was this same exercise that Angéline Fotso and his permanence team were adopting. 42 recruitment records are waiting for review by the admission commission. And until September 1, there will certainly be more.

While in the public, some do not know if at all they will be part of the workforce of solicited establishments, in the private sector, the page recruitment and registration has turned. At College St Benoît de Yaoundé, the staff was only informed yesterday morning that admission begins on September 7.

Their operations were conducted from July until early August. Most of the leaders and teachers are on leave. They will be back before August 30. It is also a probable date for the return of the administrative staff in Cameroon. This is the information we received from collège Vogt and other structures of the same order.
