The Court of first instance in Yaoundé has been expecting the national Chairman of the Democratic Union of Cameroon (UDC), Adamou Ndam Njoya, to answer questions on his alleged illegal land exploitation case in Yaoundé.

According to information published by the newspaper, Kalara on Monday, July 20, 2015, negotiations failed between Adamou Ndam Njoya and Roger Bomba, administrator of the estate of the deceased Ottou Albert.

"This conflict dates a few years back," said the newspaper. The summons for eviction notice by Me Ngo Hiag Fidèle, bailiff of justice, to Mr Adamou Ndam Njoya (through Roger Ottou), stated that he occupies a land without having the papers or land title."

"Located in Messa Yaoundé II, the said land belonged to the deceased, Ottou Albert, who is the owner of the land title, 52525 Mfoundi. After his death, his children made a judgment of heredity on August 07, 2013, which designates them as heirs of his assets.”

Mr. Ottou owned a building in the Messa district when he was alive. This property is the reason for the dispute between the parties.

According to sources, Adamou Ndam Njoya who manages a building with tenants at this location was ordered to release the land documents but it was not executed. Nevertheless the newspaper noted that in 2013, in response to Me Antoine Epassy who is one of the lawyers of the family, Adamou Ndam Njoya explained that the original owner of the land, Mr. Ottou Albert, died before all the required arrangements were finalized.

Mr. Ndam Njoya added that “the trust he gave us lies in the relationship he had with my father, the Senator Minister, Njoya Arouna. You would understand that we have not undertaken speculations around this land, and to respect his memory, all those who are out there don't pay rent or lease spaces for their activities."

At the end of the hearing on July 15, the President of the tribunal granted a firm reference to August 19, 2015, at the request of Me Abessolo Etienne, council for the complainant.
