Aboubakar and Salli offer 1 million CFA FRANCS to Cotton Sport

Two Cameroonian international, former cotton sport Garoua players, each offered financial assistance of 500 000 F CFA to the club, making it a sum of a million Cfa Francs for the two.

It was Saturday at Garoua during a General Assembly of the club, dedicated to a fund raiser to absorb the crises battering the club since the start of the season.

Vincent Aboubakar (FC Porto) and Edgar Salli (Academica Coimbra), as well as others in the region, agreed to contribute to the financial recovery of the team.

Contributions generated an overall package of 15.885.000 F CFA. Which also contains the contributions of a retired cotton sport player, Souleymanou Hamidou, the former goal keeper of the indomitable Lions, who also contributed the sum of 500 000 F CFA.

The same sum was granted by the President of the club, Gabriel Mbaïrobé, former president of the regional Northern League, Alim Konaté, and the former president of the club, Pierre Kaptené.

This money will help to alleviate the current crisis within the club, due to its change of legal status, but also and especially the quasi-desisting of its main Fund provider, the cotton development company (Sodecoton), which reviewed his contribution to one-third of the initial grant (500 million Cfa Francs).

The club will now have to have autonomous administrative and financial management.
