Abba Sadou cancels a contract worth half a billion

Abba Sadou, Minister of Public Contracts Abba Sadou, Minister of Public Contracts

The Minister of Public Procurement, Abba Sadou, has cancelled a contract worth half a billion on suspicion of a conflict of interest between Thompson Evouna, Government delegate, and Silk Road Sarl, bidder of the offer.

The decision was made with N ° 250/D/PR/MINMAP/DGMAS/DMAG of October 21, 2014,in place of N ° 237/PR/MINMAP/CCPM-AG/2014 October 14, 2014 in relation to the call on international tenders to supply four buses to the Yaoundé community.

The Minister of Public Procurement proceeded to repeal outright the awarded contract to Silk Road Sarl, representative of the MUSFAR-SRS group, a Turkish multinational company. Despite the reconsideration plea by Omer Faruk Dogan, Ambassador of Turkey in Cameroon dated November 11, 2014, Abba Sadou has remained unfazed.

According to Cameroon - info.NET, the Turkish diplomat wrote: "your Excellency, the Minister, I hereby have the honour to forward a motion for your intervention to cancel the contract."

Omer Faruk Dogan continued that,"However, he representative of Silk Road Sarl wants to know the reasons for the cancellation. Your Excellence, without putting pressure on you, I would like your indulgence in the circumstances of this cancellation.”

However, due to a Survey made by the Department of public procurement, it is clear that before the repeal, Abba Sadou said he had been informed that a relative of Gilbert Tsimi Evouna named Josué Tsimi was actually the representative of the Silk Road Sarl, the successful tenderer, for the supply of four buses in the community of Yaoundé for half a billion.
