Police arrested a gang of traffickers of human bones who had in their possession 110 bones from desecrated graves, we learn.

The traffickers, who were arrested late last week, are believed to be operating in the Nkoteng locality, department of Haute-Sanaga, in the Centre region.

The bones from desecrated graves were 110 in total including 82 from a first body and 28 (yet fleshy) from another. The package was gathered in the month of July, reports the pro-government daily.

According to their mode of operations, the smugglers operating deep in the night dug the graves and after the dirty work, the meaty bones were buried under the sand to be stripped of the flesh.

Trafficking accrued several million FCFA. Traffickers operated under command and the brain behind the band has not yet been apprehended.
