Five people, including two teenagers, have still not been found 48 hours after an attack attributed to Boko Haram in Kolofata district in the Mayo-Sava Department.

The suspected elements belonging to Boko Haram attacked the locality early evening after 18 pm local time (17 GMT).

“It was after the raid that people noticed the disappearance of some persons. Maybe it was abduction as Boko Haram has accustomed us. Perhaps, these people fled for shelter. Let us be patient,” said our source.

In this attack, the army announced no loss of life or injuries but particularly cattle, goats were stolen, according to our security source who was contacted on phone.

The Department of Mayo-Savo, bordering Nigeria, is one of the parts of the Far North of the country most affected by the attacks attributed to the Nigerian Islamist sect.
