The United States has pledged a 4 billion FCFA reward for the head of the leader of the Nigerian terrorist sect, Boko Haram, according to sources.
The source stated that the United States, who has proven experiences in the fight against terrorism, are convinced that, “the arrest of the Chief Boko Haram could lead to the decapitation of the terrorist organization.”
Reportedly, Abubakar Shekau was injured during an attack by the Cameroonian and Chadian army a few weeks ago. Knowing this, Chadian President, Idriss Deby, declared that he no longer had control of the movement, although he would have instructed his followers to increase the suicide attacks.
Consequently, not only Nigeria paid the price of the kamikaze attacks but neighboring countries, including Cameroon, Niger and Chad have suffered more suicide attacks.
The last one dates back to last Thursday when a double explosion caused 30 deaths and a hundred wounded at Kerawa, in the Far North of Cameroon.
