300 kg of smoked meat confiscated in Bafoussam

Elements of the regional delegation of Waters and Forests in Bafoussam, West regional capital, seized nearly 300 kg of smoked meat.

The meat confiscated included that of gorillas, red river hogs, blue duiker and black dorsal stripe, Peters duiker, monkeys, all protected by wildlife law, reports Wednesday the state media.

The meat was processed after poaching the animals from the region of Adamawa in the West. They were transported in a public bus transport hidden in bags.

The West ??security and defense forces say they have initiated an investigation to identify the perpetrators of poaching.
