20 US Air War student officers visit Cameroon

Twenty (20) Student Officers from the United States Air Force War College based in Montgomery (Alabama) ends a five-day visit to Cameroon to learn about the country’s military, culture, society as well as economic development.

The delegation that arrived in Cameroon on February 28, 2015 first paid a courtesy call to the Ministry of External Relations (MINREX) on March 2, 2015.

While rendering a warm welcome to the delegation, the Secretary General of MINREX, Felix Mbayu, gave them a foretaste of their host country.

The interim Sub-Director of Relations with North American countries at MINREX, Jean Djounkeng, gave a presentation on Cameroon as a country of peace as well as on the development of US-Cameroon bilateral relations, stressing on the security challenges and military cooperation with the United States.

Other presentations preceded the award by the American delegation of a plaque in acknowledgement of their host country’s hospitality.

March 3, 2015, was a busy day for the delegation that was led by two officials of the US Embassy in Yaounde. The Air War student officers met with the Commander of International War College of Cameroon, Major General Esaïe Ngambou, and academic staff in the institution’s campus located in the Simbock neighbourhood, Yaounde.

The Chief of Staff of Cameroon’s Air Force, Brigadier General Jean Calvin Momha, also received the delegation and discussions centred on the development of Cameroon’s Air Force.
