2 French MPs open talks on economic recovery of the North

The deputies, Pierre Lellouche and Philippe Baumel met on Thursday, January Jan 29, the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional development.

The two French parliamentarians who met Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi Cameroonian Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional development (Minepat) were in the company of Christine Robichon, the Ambassador of France in Cameroon.

"We talked about development and profitable growth", summarized the visitors to the press, adding that discussion also focused on ways to "stand together for the creation of jobs".

For Pierre Lellouche (member of UMP for the 1st District of Paris) and Philippe Baumel (MP PS of the 3rd District of Saone et Loire) this was a forum to discuss opportunities in the northern part of Cameroon. "We talked about the situation in the North, which has direct impact on sectors such as agriculture and livestock.

The growth of Cameroon is our dream when you come to an old continent like ours. But this growth is based on the production of raw materials, and it is desirable to move towards a creative transformation of wealth industry l."

On Wednesday, M Lellouche and Baumel were received in audience by the president of the National Assembly Cavaye Yeguie Djibril where proposals made to be transmitted to Paris raised concerns about the security situation in the northern part of Cameroon.
