1 dead, 16 injured in accident along Edea highway

This unfortunate occurrence happened as a result of the collision between a bus belonging to Buca voyage and a truck at Sikoum Wednesday afternoon.

According to sources, the accident occurred August 27 around 1 p.m. between a bus from Buca voyage coming from Yaoundé, and a truck carrying a tank of breweries, from the opposite direction.

According to the Adjudant-chef, the bus which was coming from Sikoum - 20 km from Edéa toward Douala came face to face with a parked truck. He managed to steer out of this blockage only to run into another approaching truck leading to a violent collision.

This new accident led to the death of Prosper Kfeban, 23 years, ‘motor-boy’ of the truck. The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary of the regional hospital in Edea, and 16 injured passengers are on treatement.

The truck was compressed and the bus was completely consumed by fire resulting from the accident, Luggage and other goods were all burnt.
