Europa League: Assou-Ekotto plays, Nkoulou on the bench

Olympique de Marseille suffered the seventh game without a win in all competitions during the 3rd day of the UEFA Europa League, on Thursday.

Nicolas Nkoulou with a replacement, after his poor performance in the L1 last weekend against Lorient (1-1), the OM club bowed against Sporting Braga (3-2).

Disappointing for 80 minutes, Michel's players had yet given reasons to believe in scoring two important goals in two minutes. First on a free-kick 20 meters from goal, Alessandrini springs and placed his shot into the side netting opposite the goalkeeper of the Portuguese club (2-1, 84th) before Batshuayi enjoys a good pass from Nkoudou center to send a diagonal shot (2-2, 86th).

But a cross from Djavan saw Mandanda failed to take it and it was sent into the back of the net by Alan who drove the ball into the empty net (3-2, 88th) to the detriment of the French club.

Just like Nicolas Nkoulou, Aboubakar Oumarou was also not aligned with Partizan, beaten at home by Spanish club Athletic Club (0-2).

Assou-Ekotto has finally won

In their group, Benoît Assou-Ekotto and Saint-Etienne got their first victory in Europa League thanks to their success in Ukraine in Dnipro Arena empty of spectators after the stadium was banned by UEFA last season. The narrow victory of 0-1 was an important victory thanks to Hamouma who scored at the 44th minute.

It was a difficult start for Assou-Ekotto. The Cameroonian lost an interesting ball that could cause damage if the referee had not whistled a nonexistent offside for the Dnipro in the opening minutes. Despite some defensive mistakes, the Cameroonian was well caught thereafter.
