Myriam Kamako Myriam Kamako

Kamako Myriam, 18, was crowned the 2nd Dauphine in the Western Region Cameroon ahead of the prestigious Miss Cameroon 2015. A title the ambitious young singer sees primarily as an opportunity to let the world know about her.

Read the exclusive interview with one of the wonderful candidates.

Q: You are Myriam Kamako, 2nd Dauphine of Western Region for Miss Cameroon. Can we know a little more about you?

A: I'm actually Kamako Ngondji Myriam. I am a 2nd year Marketing Communication Sales student at the Catholic University of Central Africa. I am passionate about literature, I love music and traveling. What I do not like are onions, boredom, routine. I can call myself a dynamic and determined person but sometimes quite demanding.

Q: At 18, you are certainly one of the youngest candidates in the contest. What values do you have to exhibit at Miss Cameroon 2015? And what are your strengths in this competition?

A: In fact I am one of the youngest, but I'm assuming that value is not the number of years. Thus the contestant should not be judged by her age.

In my humble opinion values reflects patriotism, humanism, its social meaning, among others. I like my determination and social nature as my strengths. I also rely on my faith in God because with Him everything is possible.

Q: What's the first thing you would do if you were crowned Miss Cameroon 2015?

A: If I am crowned Miss Cameroon 2015, I will begin by thanking the Lord for allowing me to be with good people as well as for all who supported me. Then will start working on my projects.

Q: What is your wildest dream?

A: Work at the United Nations as an "Information Officer".

Q: Do you have some concerns about meeting the other candidates? Which of them do you perceive as potential rivals?

A: No, because I am aware that we are in a competition and because each has qualities that have been proven and approved. However, beyond the physical test each candidate has her uniqueness, motivations and ambitions.

And this is where the difference lies because we are all on the same footing. So I do not consider them as ‘rivals’ but as effective competitors.

Q: How far would you be willing to go to win the contest?

A: I am ready to do whatever is feasible and within the limits of my principles. That said I cannot compromise in any way although I’m in a competition.
