The first 3D cinema of the South regional capital, Ebolowa, which was launched on August 1 has attracted many curious persons.
Moviegoers were eager and the wait was unbearable. "The reason is that we had never heard of 3D cinema in Ebolowa town. It's like real life, with such great characters and accurate," said Evariste B. who attended one session. The same enthusiasm was shared by Fanny N.; "It seems you are the one to receive the blows instead of the characters. It's stunning!”
The subject has become the most widely shared in Ebolowa. Everyone now converge to the movie theater. Men, women, children and without distinction of social class; everyone wants to have an experience.
The promoter, Jean Marc Akono, saw a niche in this sector, “This is the first time we made the 3D projection in Cameroon. It's a challenge because the aim is to give movie theaters the feel of Cameroonian culture, by providing the best in this field. The project is still in the experimental phase but it has already encountered a hit with people who are driven by the desire to discover the unknown.”
Also called a relief cinema, 3D cinema can record reality with its three dimensions of height, width and depth. It uses the principle of natural binocular vision of man. The glasses provided for the audience uses LCD.
Even though they look transparent, they become opaque under the reaction of an electric pulse. These glasses are synchronized to the projector via an infrared link. 3D cinema has its origins from the invention of photography with elevated shooting techniques. To date, its greatest masterpiece remains Avatar Director, James Cameron of Canada.
