Many Cameroonian artistes gave the public a good show at the esplanade of the National Museum during the Music Festival in support of the defense forces in Yaoundé.
The public who did not want to miss the show, which featured over a hundred artistes from the ten regions of Cameroon, came in their numbers. The esplanade of the National Museum was over crowded with people of all age groups waving small flags while they enjoyed the show.
From Makossa to Bikutsi through to gospel and urban music, with the strings of Littoral Regional Orchestra, the musicians chimed against the harm caused by the Islamist sect Boko Haram in Cameroon.
"Stop Boko Haram" could be read in the background on a giant poster displayed behind the large podium. The musicians, during their performance, encouraged the public saying, "Do not be afraid, do not be ashamed to give what you have. This is a donation that counts. Be proud to be a Cameroonian.”
For the 34th edition of the Music Festival in Cameroon, Cameroonian artistes held the audience spellbound for over twelve hours. The concert was not only to support the efforts of the defense forces at the front but also to contribute to help fight the war.
The festival was also attended by Ama Tutu Muna, Minister of Arts and Culture (Minac), Gregory Owona, Minister of Labour and Social Security and many other guests.
For this great show, the Minac made available new sound equipment presented by President Paul Biya in 2014. With one voice, they showed their support for the defense forces battling tooth and nail daily in the Far North Region to safeguard peace and the integrity of Cameroon.
Nicole Mara, Henri Njoh and General Ama Pierrot through Ai-jo Mamadou ended up participating in the various patriotic aids.
The festival was an initiative appreciated by the audience. "It was beautiful and encouraging. We have seen the young and old dancing, clapping or shouting loudly to encourage our brothers who sacrifice themselves to maintain the peace in our country,” said Jean François Mbida, an attendee.
Minac promised another great concert next December.
