Thibault, Cameroonian advertiser earns 1677 Euros per month

Thibault, a 33 year-old advertiser in Cameroon, has earned 30 times the minimum monthly wage thanks to a snail farming project.

He gave details on his income and expenditure during the third edition of the African Money series.

"Even if it wasn't a childhood dream, work in advertising and design was a no-brainer," said Thibault, who has worked at an agency in Douala for six years.

According to him, he used to be an advertising consultant but it was not profitable enough. “At the modest level, it was not going well at all," to meet his needs. His Degree in Political Science from the University of Douala and his Master's Degree in Advertising and Marketing from Canada that enabled him get a job easily. "I enjoyed it very well, he says. I have so many responsibilities and challenges than I had before. All these with a regular income.”

Thibault had wanted to spend a little more time overseas but the death of his father in 2009 forced him to come back just after his graduation. He assumed the role of head of the family and provide for the needs of his eight siblings and his mother.
