Seychellois Orion Oil and Gas opens office in Cameroon

Based in Victoria, Seychelles, the oil company, Orion Oil and Gas has just opened a branch in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, revealed a legal announcement published June 25, 2015.

The extraordinary general meeting which took the decision has also appointed as representative of the company in Cameroon, Mr. Peihui Zhu.

The new operator thus enters into a market of exploration and exploitation of petro-gas operation, particularly dynamic since last year, with the commissioning of new fields and the signature or the extension of several licences in the basins of the country.

The upstream Cameroon oil sector is dominated by French companies, Perenco and Total. Over the past years, British investors (Bowleven, Victoria Oil & Gas), Russians (Lukoil) and Chinese (Addax Petroleum, Orion Energy Holding) were included.
