For the president of the Senate, Marcel Niat Njifenji, the question of "unemployment is a scourge which each of us is confronted with in our constituency, our families and we face all the consequences."

To solve the scourge, the Senate President urged the government to accelerate the implementation of the Roadmap on Decentralization. According to Marcel Niat Njifenji, Decentralization "is a powerful lever for opening up our regions and municipalities. It offers eventually enormous advantages to decentralized local governments to attract businesses, especially small and medium sizes that create jobs."

This was a powerful statement that had the approval of 83 senators present. There was applause when the Speaker of the House denounced "the energy crisis with its share of power cuts every day." A firm tone that shows that the Senate is committed to "defend the interests of regional populations" which senators are "worthy representatives."

In addition to these social issues, Marcel Niat Njifenji nevertheless reminded the audience that the institution had just celebrated its second anniversary. 24 months during which several laws were reviewed and adopted on time. Internationally, the Senate has also left its mark on all policy areas where its presence was needed, like the Pan African Parliament where two senators are part of the Cameroonian delegation.

Beyond the pride to remember the road traveled, the Senate President concluded by reminding his colleagues of the numerous and demanding challenges ahead. As part of the fight against Boko Haram, Marcel Niat Njifenji warned: "Facing this danger, we all have a duty of permanent vigilance, commitment and patriotism,"he stressed.
