Paperless billing is effective in the Port of Douala

A billing in the activities of the Autonomous Port of Douala (Pad) will be represented by an amount of 15 billion FCfa.

Thanks to the new billing without paper or electronic billing, many old practices will be redacted, such as long queues before funds, payment delays, disputes between sector port or maritime, loss of documents, the reduction of time spent in the management procedures which accounts on average of only 5-15% of turnover of the enterprises Etc.

All officials present at the official launch of the electronic billing at Guce were very satisfied with this progress at the national port sector. Isidore Biyiha, Executive Director of the unique counter of operations of foreign trade (Guce), announced that for the meantime, electronic payment will take precedence over other existing payment methods.

This was same idea for Charles Moukoko Njo, Deputy Director-general of the Autonomous Port of Douala, who stated that the benefits of these tools will extend into households throughout the country with Douala being the first Cameroon maritime gateway.

Daily functioning of this new billing system that fits into the overall framework of the project of dematerialization of the operations of maritime transport in Cameroon, will be done be by trained agents already recruited.
