Make foléré an industrial product, Essimi Menye tells northerners

These measures were announced for this purpose by the Minister in charge of Agriculture and Rural Development on Monday in Ngong at the launch of the 2015 crop in this part of the country.

You had to be early on Monday in Ngong, a town on the national No. 1, about forty kilometers from Garoua to hope to get a seat at the podium.

Borough Tchéboa was packed with people, with the launch of the crop year 2015 for the three northern regions of the country.

Essimi Menye, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER), accompanied by his minster delegate Clémentine Ananga Messina, made the trip to Ngong to commune with the lords of the land from the northern regions of the Far North and Adamawa.

A unique moment for agro-forestry-pastoral-fish producers in the three regions, who, for the occasion transformed the place into a trade fair of local products.

Speaking on the occasion, the MINADER praised the sacrifice of the agricultural workers of the north despite the weather conditions. Indeed, this crop year 2015 comes as the North and Far-North are still waiting for the necessary rain to land the first seeds.

Although both regions have experienced some rain in recent days, the fallen amount of water is not likely to allow farmers to sow grain. Essimi Menye did not come in Ngong with empty hands. He has brought in his pockets inputs and agricultural equipment for producer organizations known as Grouping of Common Interest (GIC). The material received was composed of 44 sprayers, 10-all doors, 2 pumps, 150 bags of fertilizer, 1,450 tons of corn seeds, among others.

In addition to these donations by MINADER, producers have also received firm promises. MINADER has committed to launch very soon including the production of mango seed to fill the northern regions of nurseries that can allow them the industrialization of the sector in the short term.

In the same vein, Essimi Menye said make "foléré" an industrial product to create storable drinks. Both announcements were welcomed by the population, which did not fail to show their happiness by screaming and ululating.

Before ending his visit to the northern region, the MINADER visited Tchéboa village, town about forty kilometers from Ngong to visit a farm.
