MINADER encourages Bago plantation

Essimi Menye conducted a tour of the 50 acres of fields belonging to Joseph LE, elite corner.

Outside the official launch of the national campaign full processing of cocoa orchard / coffee Cameroon, held in Atok, Eastern Region, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER) raided on some farms surrounding the farm.

Essimi Menye has made a significant stop at "Bago Plantation" 50 hectares of land belonging to Joseph LE, elite of Upper Nyong and also chairman of the development committee of the Canton Maka-Bebend.

A vast field created in 2008 and consists of cocoa, oil palm, plantain, groundnut, beans, mango and grapefruit. Given the extent of the site and the commitment of the promoter, MINADER has advised the developer to invest in the cultivation of potatoes.

Joseph LE has in fact taken the opportunity of this field trip to present to MINADER agricultural projects of the development committee of the Canton-Bebend Maka, who placed 2015 under the sign of the second generation agriculture.

"I personally invested there to set an example to my people and especially young people, the example of the good work that is not done only in offices in Yaoundé, but also in the fields to the village," he explains.

"I also want to thank tall the sons of the East and the head of state and government for the launch of cocoa / coffee orchard treatment campaign here at home. The district of Atok has long been an important cocoa production area in Cameroon. We are grateful to see that the revival of the sector starts with him, "says the local elite.

Congratulating his colleague for "this pleasant surprise," Essimi Menye told him simple tips and practical, to obtain better returns. "When the head of state invited his compatriots to invest in agriculture, we feel that this message does not pass. But what I saw today gives me satisfaction."
