FCFA 125 billion for leasing in Cameroon

Leasing in Cameroon has experienced a net growth with a market estimated at 125 billion FCFA in 2015; an increase of 70 percent, according to reports on Wednesday by the Cameroon Association of Leasing (CAMLEASE).

According to the corporate organization "the culture of leasing is begins to embed itself in Cameroon and we believe that in the coming years, each and everyone will take advantage of the benefit of this type of financing."

Reliable sources revealed that, Cameroon has a potential of FCFA 400 billion leasing while suggesting that "much remains to be done to achieve the desired level." The government, through the Ministry of Economy, signed a partnership agreement with CAMLEASE where 3 billion FCFA was released by the authorities to better support this activity.

Created a few years ago, CAMLEASE’s main objective is to promote leasing and other rental credits as preferred financing tool for professional or private facilities in Cameroon.
