The Cameroonian Government, through its Ministry of public procurement, has awarded to the Spanish company Astilleros Armon SA, the market for the provision of a "multifunctional easement ship" at the autonomous port of Douala (PAD), the public company that manages what is currently the largest port infrastructure of the country.

The Spanish naval constructor, which must deliver the vessel to PAD at the end of 17 months, was preferred to two competitors; China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), the Chinese company which built the Kribi deep sea port, and the financial offer was considered to be highest.

Then, there's the French company Ocea SA, which was eliminated, for non-satisfaction of the eliminatory criteria on the major technical characteristics and the absence of shipbuilding evidence.

Astilleros Armon SA claims delivery of 800 ships since its inception, with nearly 40 each year. Within its equipment, indicated the company, can be found fishing boats, tugboats, fast craft, dredges, cargo vessels, ferries, yachts.
