Invest'Elect, the first international fair on investment in the sector of electricity in Cameroon, organized in Yaoundé from 10 to 13 March 2015 by the (Arsel) electricity sector regulatory agency, has helped the Cameroonian Government and partners, with the signing 13 memoranda of agreements on projects of renewable energy in the country, revealed Issiaka Fonfatawouo, Director of studies at Arsel and Invest' Elect project leader.
Although this head of Arsel did not reveal details on these memoranda of agreements, it can still be remembered the Invest ' Elect fair had been preceded by the presentation, by its organizers, of the results of an exploration operation for renewable energy projects in the country, the European Union (EU)-funded study.
At the end of this study, Arsel announced on the eve of Invest'Elect, that 300 sites can accommodate renewable energy projects have been identified in Cameroonian territory, for an overall production of 300 MW of electricity, particularly in rural areas.
