Govt discuss cooperation ties with US and Italy

This was disclosed during a hearing granted on Tuesday by Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi to the ambassadors of the United States and Italy in Cameroon.

At the meeting, there was an exchange of bonds between the Minister of economy and planning (Minepat), Emmanuel Nganou Ndjoumessi and the US Ambassador to Cameroon, Michaël Stephan Hoza and Samuela Isopi, Ambassador of Italy in Cameroon on the other hand.

The partnership between Cameroon and the United States focussed on one of the major topics at the heart of the exchange between the Minister, Emmanuel Nganou Ndjoumessi and Michaël Stephan Hoza. "We discussed the opportunity for investors to create jobs for young people and develop local infrastructure," said the Ambassador of the United States.

After the long discussion, the United States is considering Minepat's policy of improving the distribution of energy and potable water. America would also contribute to the strengthening of infrastructure and management of the people of the North. This is to solve problems stemming from infrastructural damages caused by the Boko Haram sect in the region.

The bilateral cooperation prospects between Cameroon and the Italy were raised during the discussion between the Minister, Emmanuel Nganou Ndjoumessi and Samuela Isopi, Ambassador of Italy to Cameroon. The two have thus agreed to create working groups responsible for implementing cooperation on the ground.

"We will study Minepat to identify opportunities as well as cancel bilateral debt, to revive the cooperation between our countries" said the Italian diplomat.
