Samuel Eto'o set to complete Galatasaray switch

SAMUEL ETO'O is set to turn down a return to Italian football by joining up with ex-Inter Milan team-mate Wesley Sneijder at Galatasaray.

Eto'o left Chelsea at the end of last season after a 12 month spell at Stamford Bridge.

The Cameroonian fell out with boss Jose Mourinho earlier this year after the Portuguese insulted him in off the record comments made to a French radio station.

That spat put paid to any chance of Eto'o extending his spell in west London.

And he now looks set to land a big money deal to join Turkish giants Gala.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 33-year-old striker will be offered a one-year deal worth around £3m by the Istanbul club.

That contract dwarfs the £1.5m deal put forward by Italian side Fiorentina.

If he does move to Turkey, he will replace Chelsea legend Didier Drogba at the Istanbul club.

The Ivory Costa veteran is seeking a new club after ending an 18-month spell with Gala earlier this summer.

The Cameroon ace bagged three Champions League titles during his time with Barcelona and Inter Milan, but won nothing during his time in England after Chelsea's barren 2013-14 season.
