Romanian Cup: Beleck’s goal ensures semifinals spot

Steve Beleck Steve Beleck

CFR Cluj won on Wednesday her ticket to the last four of the Romanian Football Cup.

It was a great show from Steve Beleck. Powerless in the league last weekend, the 22-year-old Cameroonian striker, shook the nets of CSMS Iasi, offering the winning goal for his team, winning 2-1.

Substitute in the last league game, Steve Beleck was aligned only at the forefront of the attack on his club, for his third Cup match. His coach did well by leaving him on the field during the entire meeting.

This is because, after a strong early game, it is almost at the end of the second half that the Cameroonian found the net.

While both clubs stood (1-1) after goals from Paun-Alexandru (55th) and Gheorghe (77th) respectively for CFR Cluj and Iasi CSMS, the player on loan from Fiorentina delivered his team by signing his second goal in this competition in the 83rd.

Fai and Essombe also qualified

Like him, two Cameroonians will play the semi-finals of the Romanian Cup: Fai Collins and Marcel Essombé. Fai, defender, was tenured while Essombé, striker, and scorer in the league last weekend, was thrown into the arena in the 62nd.

Through their efforts and those of their teammates, their club, Dinamo Bucuresti defeated championship leader, Astra, 2 goals to 1.
