Canon Yaoundé: German named General Manager

The new boss of the administration of Canon of Yaounde is Berthold Kleiser.

The 55-year old German was presented on Wednesday during a press conference at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) Yaounde.

The Chairman of the Board, Fabien Omboudou, presented to the press his new employees, who will now strive to lead the team to the next season.

Berthold Kleiser is also Deputy Director General of the Cameroon branch of the German company, Sarl KKBIT Computing.

Economist by training and producer of power tools, the German was until then the purchasing manager of Allianz Arena, the legendary stadium of Bayern Munich.

He will have as an assistant, Roger Ebode Ebode, who had been acting as the head of the club in the late season.

However, the Gunners remain in expectation of the arrival of new coach of Kpa-kum, which does not appear as an emergency.

"We are in negotiations to hire a coach but we believe that the CTO can play this role, or even the number 1 assistant coach," assured Fabien Omboudou.

The Technical Director's son Gweha Ikouam, former assistant coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, is primarily responsible for managing the club's training component.

Prior to the preparation of the next season in Ligue 1, club officials announced the holding of a General Meeting of the club on December 5. This will be followed by a fund raising event to engage the public shareholding envisaged to establish Fabien Omboudou and his men.

To this end, a prospecting campaign in the ten regions is announced, in order to create committees of supporters of Canon Yaounde and encourage involvement of the unconditioned Mekok-me-ngonda and encourage them to support the club.

A partnership with a Cameroonian bank has also been signed between the two entities to facilitate contributions by supporters in the country.
