Police bosses from Congo, Gabon, Chad, DRC, Cameroon, CAR, Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome and Principe, who are all member countries of (CCPAC), met Tuesday, September 15, 2015, in the Cameroonian capital, as part of the 16th session of the Committee of Central African Police Chiefs (Ccpac), according to sources.
The members of this structure gathered in a context where the countries of the Ccpac, face new threats facilitated by the porosity of the borders separating them.
The committee was set up as a result of the cooperation between the international criminal police organization and the countries of the Central Africa sub-region.
Consequently, issues related to terrorism, banditry, paedophilia, cyber-crime, cross-border crime which is growing with the hostage taking that multiplies, traffic of all kinds, (humans trafficking, drugs, vehicles), were the topics for discussion among the chiefs of police present at the meeting in Yaoundé, the sources revealed.
Furthermore, the countries of the sub-region are planning to further strengthen the cooperation of the national police of different States.
