A forum of entrepreneurial opportunities was organized on the initiative of the National Youth Council of Cameroon (CNJC) in Mayo-Sava department and had as theme: "For a young enterprising and resilient face against violent extremism."
During this meeting, the issue was to impact young people through forums on entrepreneurial opportunities, allowing this category of the population to develop in them private and personal initiatives to prevent manipulation from the "sellers of illusions," as published by the daily Mutations on Thursday, February 4, 2016.
"Some people use manipulation, force, intimidation or persuasion to influence the people around them, especially the young. And that is how many of our youth were convinced by elements of the terrorist sect Boko Haram because they have not been trained in entrepreneurship or notions of patriotism," said the regional president of CNJC Far North, Ibrahim Djagra. For him, this initiative will enable young people not to give in to the proposals and terrorist threats.
"It is our duty to rectify, to fill that gap so that young people of the department in particular and the region in generally have the arms to say no to Boko Haram and other sellers of illusions. The change must go through our young people; we must be builders, not destroyers," added Ibrahim Djagra.
According to him the youth of the Far North region lack initiative. The CNJC is also working on the creation of an incubation center for youth projects for the creation of several jobs.
